It’s that season again. And if you’re hunt for a beautiful, bridal hair style, check out the 2014 trend forecast brought to us from Lianne Crosby for Hitched.

Fashion trends change all the time, which means if you are getting married in 2014, you’re going to want to be up to date with the new trends in hair and makeup. We take a lot of inspiration in fashion from actresses and runway models and the new trends of 2014 are walking straight off the runway.

Mermaid Waves

Mermaid waves are loose, long, effortless looking curls. They are romantic and lush. You can pull pieces back or over one shoulder to create variations.

Gold Detail

Adding golden hair pieces or detailing makes your wedding hair that little bit more special and is very on trend for 2014. Details could include golden headbands and sparkly clips, or if you wear your hair up you could have small golden leaves placed in your up-do. Gold detailing is a very subtle and classy way of giving your wedding hair further detail, without taking attention away from your wedding dress.

Flowers

Lots of brides add detail to their hair with flowers, which is a pretty way of adding a special touch to your bridal do. You could use either one flower in your hair that matches your bouquet, or the use of a variety of  little flowers dotted around looks great in an up do. Using real flowers  adds a real personal touch, but you can purchase a flowered clip to place in the side of your hair, which also looks great and don’t wilt.

Braids

What do Beyonce, Kim Kardasian, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, and Victoria Beckham all have in common? Braids! They are back for the New Year, and it looks like more and more women will be braided brides in 2014 with the likes of celebrity idols fashioning this old school hair do. The great thing about braids is that they can be styled in different ways, such as the scruffy braid, the school girl braid, the up do and the wavy braid. The woven up do braid can make a bride look elegant and classy.

Vintage is Classic

The vintage look is timeless and classic, and the 1920’s style made an appearance towards the end of 2013 with films such as ‘The Great Gatsby’ bringing back the roaring twenties striking glamour. the 1920’s trend is increasingly on the unprise and it looks as though the cutesy side bun and loose waves will make a return in 2014. Vintage hair always comes together beautifully with a vintage or antique hair broach or headband.
