As I drove up to her house Gopika was comfortably slouched in a chair, relaxing on the porch, enjoying the beautiful weather. This was a first. It was though she was expecting me for a girls night in. But in reality she was expecting me to beautify her for her big day. This is typical of Gopika, calm, sweet, to the point and organized. No wonder Farhan fell in love with her years ago.
Everything from the location to her makeup seemed clean and classic. It seemed real. you could feel that this was about an union, about a magical love versus being a production of sorts.
Her ceremonial lengha was a beautiful, crisp red that contrasted well and brightened her complexion. I especially love that her jewelry and dupatta complemented her outfit rather than overtaking it. Similarly her makeup just accentuated her features with the focus being the red lip.
Her evening gown was a custom made cream and lace ensemble inspired by a Hally Berry Oscar gown. We kept her evening look elegant and contemporary with a vintage inspired side do, smokey eyes and a light pink lip. She was herself on her wedding day.
Thank you Gopika for having me take part in your love story!
Gopika’s wedding was shot by the timeless talent of Ikonica.
