Just in time for Christmas, the 2013 Pantone color of the year is Emerald Green! It’s rich, royal and elegant. But it can also be playful depending on the color you pair it with.
3 Ways to subtly incorporate emerald green into your look:
- Sport a coat of green glitter on a nude nail, try Nails Inc., Nail Jewelry Piccadilly Arcade
Wear it alone or be bold by applying it on top of a solid green nail polish like Illamasque Nail Varnish, Elope
- Just above your black upper liner or in place of it, brighten up your eyes with a green liner like Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner, 3 Emerald Green.
- Whether you have small or big eyes, NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Misfit is a great multi use eyeshadow. Apply the light color on your lid and/or brow bone. Apply the green eyeshadow in the contour or half to three quarters of your eye, keeping the light color in the corners to open up your eyes.
Greens look great with purples and reds, so I would mix up green made up eyes with lips and cheeks in purple undertones or deep reds.
For South Asian Brides, if you want to subtly incorporate greens into your eyes, eye shadows and liners are ideal so the color doesn’t appear too stark and matchy matchy.
