Amplified Soul Does Suhaag 2012: Runway Looks

This week was a whirlwind. I jetted off the plane and into planning mode for the Suhaag Spring 2012 show. Amplified Soul Makeup+Hair Couture was the official makeup and hair team for the fashion show, as we’ve been for 3 years now! Time flies.

The show was fabulous, I felt like I was shopping in India again! The only thing that kills me about the fashion show, is that each model changes outfits 4 to 6 times. The models’ hairstyles are never the same by the end.  Our poor poor hair.

We showcased 2 hair styles and 3 different makeup looks.  We opted for a pulled back variation of the braid that everyone seemed to love; and a high bun which is a popular trend amongst stars and models, whether sporting a dress for the Oscars or tracks to the gym.  A classic version was sported by Deepika Padukone at the 2012 Filmfare awards which really sparked my interest.

This season is all about pops of daring color. Red lips are a cult fave and if you don’t think red is for you, try Vasanti USA and you’ll change your mind! It’s classic and so in right now. I’m also in love with navy blues. So instead of a traditional black smokey, we went with navy, electrified with a silver base for the second look. It’s royal with a hint of cool.  Lastly, we played with colors, purple and teal, inspired by our 2012 look collection.I had the fun bride in mind when creating this look, that loves makeup and loves color!
