What’s On My Face? Part 1

I often get asked what I use on my face, so I’m going to share with you the what, where, how and why in a three part series- beginning with the complexion, followed by the eyes and then the others.

Part 1: Complexion

Overall, I’m happy to say that my skin texture is smooth. However, I do have an uneven skin tone and dark under eye circles. I’ve developed the following regime to even out my skin tone and cover those dark circles. I first begin with moisturizer and sunscreen.

Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+ Foundation

Where/How: A little all over the face with a kabuki brush

Why?: It’s great for oily skin with its matifying  and non comedogenic properties (doesn’t clog pores)

M.A.C. Select Cover-Up, NC 45

Where/How:Using my fingers, I apply on areas that are a little darker such as my eyelids and my upper lip ( has become a little darker since threading)

Why?: It has medium coverage and is cost friendly- so I use this rather than the concealer below in areas I don’t need opaque coverage

Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer, Dark Beige 12

Where/How: I pat it around my under eyes with my fingers. I have to move quick as it sets quick.

Why?: It has full, opaque  coverage and does not move

M.A.C. Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

Where/How: I use very, very little of this under my eyes with the accompanying sponge

Why?: To set the Make Up For Ever concealer and blending it in with the rest of my face

The key is using very little and layering if necessary! Being a  makeup artist, the process is therapeutic and takes me 5 minutes. The products last me anywhere from 6 months to 1 year. Depending on the skill, budget, time and need, there’s a unique face regimen for everyone. If you have any questions about these products or your face regimen, send me an email!
