Happy New Year! I am currently in the motherland, in the south! In the spirit of the south, here are a few Sri Lankan weddings we took part in last year. The feels are very different ranging from traditional to contemporary.
Tharshana was a traditional looking bride with traditional makeup and hair inspired by old Bollywood. But her wedding was anything but traditional, taking place in MEXICO! The backdrop was breath taking-blog post to come! In the meantime you can check out G+H Photography for more.

Everything about Asha’s look was traditional except for her makeup. Asha wasn’t big on makeup other than her daily dose of her favorite pink lipstick. So she opted for a natural look including her favorite pink lipstick, punched up with a deeper color.

I love South Indian/Sri Lankan colors and the use of flowers, especially the refreshing smell. So did Tasha, but she wanted a contemporary look without the braid like a tousled up do. So we took our inspiration from the Jessica Alba and Sonam Kapoor in Aisha, incorporating the use of jasmine flowers.
Now we’re waiting for the actual shot of Tasha from her ceremony (sorry), but in the meantime here is a shot from her reception, which took place at the Ontario Science Center!
